“Atrial 4-D Flow CMR”

Besides the unsettling fear from an irregular heartbeat, atrial fibrillation increases a patient’s stroke risk. To gage that risk, a radiologist at Northwestern University has developed software which can be used with any MRI machine to measure blood flow, diffusion of molecules and tissue elasticity in predicting a stroke. This cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) approach does not require contrast agents for imaging. MORE
