Regenerative Gel Stimulates New Blood Vessel Formation

It would be welcome news, indeed, if means existed to regenerate blood vessels in diabetics, thereby reducing the threat of amputations. To that end, researchers at the University of Texas (Austin) are experimenting with a new gel that contains both blood vessel growth factors and a protein, “syndecan-4,” that signals the vessel formation process to proceed.
