Who Gets Credit for CRISPR?

CRISPR-Cas 9 is a DNA editing technology that may prove to be the medical discovery of the century. But like recombinant DNA, one camp got the notoriety (which included the Nobel Prize) for the discovery and another won the patent. In patent theory, this shouldn’t happen, but it does and this illustrates how widespread collaborations and competition work in science industry. MORE
