Smart Chips for Chronic Pain

Researchers at a national laboratory in Sydney, Australia have developed a tiny (about the size of a match head) implantable device that is sewn to tissue near the spine with wires leading to a vertebrae that radiates pain. Human trials will begin this year to see if this device can send a pulse that blocks pain transmission to the brain. The device has a battery that can be recharged wirelessly. MORE INCLUDING A VIDEO
