TruFocals: Adjustable Eyeglass Lens Technology
September 14, 2010 | Terry Sharrer
As eyes age, elasticity of the lens diminishes, resulting in vision impairment. Bifocals and trifocals can correct problems, but they require a head and neck position that can cause strain. NASA is now testing a new adjustable lens technology that allows a wearer of TruFocals to adjust a lever on the glasses which moves a silicon fluid between two magnetically attached lens to allow strainless vision. This is an interesting story that ought to prompt our readers to think of contact lens and even implantable lens devices that could be altered via a cell phone signal.
