Polygenic risk scores may become as routine as cholesterol screening. To that end, researchers at the Broad Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School have analyzed the genomics of 400,000 individuals of European ancestry in the UK Biobank and come up with polygenic risk scores for coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, Type 2 diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease and breast cancer. Presumably such testing could provide guidance for earlier interventions. MORE
