As this piece says, “Of all the mobile devices designed to support medical care, no technology may have more potential to change the pathology profession than nanotechnology-based diagnostic devices.” The latest to join this genre of lab-on-a-chip, lab-in-a-needle, and lab-on-paper is lab-on-skin, which can monitor body temperature, blood oxygen, hydration, blood pressure glucose, potassium, sodium, lactate and pH.
