Nokia’s Telemed Collaboration with Helsinki University Hospital

Some of you, particularly our friends in Finland, will remember that Nokia sponsored our first medical automation conference in Helsinki eleven years ago. Since then, Nokia has tried to strengthen its presence in digital healthcare, as its most recent collaboration with Helsinki University Hospital indicates. Apparently, this collaboration is aimed at acute stroke care, using monitors (including wireless blood pressure tracking) that patients wear or have built into their home environments. Other technologies (e.g. blood coagulation monitor, inflammation sensors, breathalyzers, and assistive robots), though not mentioned here, are obvious extenders of this collaboration. MORE
