Hematopoiesis, other than taking place in bone marrow tissue, is poorly understood. In this piece from Children’s Hospital of Cincinnati and collaborating partners, researchers constructed an atlas of bone marrow and conclude that the “organization of the vasculation dictates blood formation.” They foresee blood organoids being highly useful in both understanding and treating diseases like leukemia.
