Heart Research on Mt. Kilimanjaro

Because the oxygen deprivation at high altitude mimics that of a heart attack, device maker Royal Philips and the Mayo Clinic have collaborated with a climbing team going to Kilimanjaro’s 20,000 ft. peak. Thirty-five climbers, between the ages of 25 and 65, will use several Philips devices to monitor their vital signs 24/7 with data going to smart phones. MORE
