This piece reports on regenerative medicine at University College London where bioengineers have previously grown implantable tear ducts, blood vessels, and windpipes. Now they have stem cells from a patient’s fat, grown them on a polymer scaffold in the shape of a nose and implanted the nose in the patient’s forearm to acquire skin. This is another step closer to the “modular” human. MORE
