Health Sensor in a Tooth Implant

Hybridizing the ideas of wearable and implantable sensors, engineers at National Taiwan University (Taipei City) have designed an accelerometer, which dental adhesive affixed to a tooth, to monitor chewing, drinking, speaking and coughing in a number of situations (recovering stroke victims being one example). Now they are working to develop both an artificial tooth and removable dentures to track movements and other features of oral health. MORE
