InTouch and iRobot Work Together in Telestroke Program

Several California hospitals have contracted a 24/7 emergency telemedicine provider to screen possible stroke patients and direct them to treatment. A robot with two-way video capability can move between patients on a single unit, while a spoke-and-hub arrangement connects multiple facilities—much like a simpler version of an eICU. When a patient obviously needs to see an interventional neurologist or neurosurgeon, the system finds the closest available service. InTouch Health and iRobot are the equipment makers. MORE
