Blood Biomarker Sensor

Mass spectroscopy is the chief means researchers have for discovering biomarkers and protein profiles in blood. But Norwegian researchers have developed a new technique that relies on a silicon membrane perforated with nano-scale holes that can capture biomarkers. The technique relies on a light scan to illuminate these particles and it doesn’t take too much imagination to foresee this becoming a point-of-care device for clinical chemistry. MORE
