A research team from Stanford and Intel have designed what they hope will become a point-of-care proteomics array.  Like Affymetrix’s “Gene Chips,” these protein arrays are photolithographed, but with peptides instead of nucleic acid bases.  This first generation chip has 9,000 peptides and is used for diagnosing systemic lupus.
