Blood Cleaner

Researchers at the University of Zurich have developed and tested antibody-coated magnetic nanoparticles that can capture several harmful contaminants of blood (drugs, metals, pathogens, inflammatory proteins, cancer cells) for removal via dialysis. Their work also indicates the nanoparticles did not damage healthy cells or promote blood clotting.   MORE
