p-Medicine, the EU’s Approach

“Matryoshka” is the name for those Russian “little matron” nesting dolls. Besides being a pretty folk art form, they can be seen as an analogy of personalized medicine, where “individuality” exists at various levels from the social to molecular. Each level has its own reality in information, and connecting all data is the aim of a European Union-funded project called the Virtual Physiological Human. Integrating this into personalized medicine is the objective of the VPH’s “p-Medicine Project,” as outlined in this piece. MORE
