While researchers at Oxford University and the University of Cape Town carried out this R&D project for monitoring heart sounds of rural Africans with tuberculosis, their findings are useful for telemedicine/telehealth everywhere. After solving a few technical problems, the bioengineers compared their device (stethoscope and listening app) with both the Nokia 3110 and iPhone 3G phones to the Littmann electronic stethoscope. They found that the low cost Nokia actually outperformed the Littmann, while being less expensive than the iPhone. MORE

Developing a pocket-sized Phono- & Pressocardiographic Stress Test system using NOKIA!
By filtering out the low frequencies from PhonoCG we could get a pressocardiogram, which it has been proved corresponds left ventricular pressure curve in time, pulse pressure and slope. By incorporating a software that enables the diagnosis of myocardial diseases in early stage, every practitioner could use NOKIA as..an initial screening test for subclinical/silent myocardial diseases, above coronary artery disease. The resulting tool would represent the 1st pocket-sized stress test device ..worldwide, revolutionizing cardiology..
There are many publications on this topic and I already have a portbale device with the automated diagnosis that I could demonstrate to you any time.
If you contact me giving an e mail address, I could send you more documents, publication list and some examples. You can get much more by visiting my web (www.presso-test.com & http://www.diastolicstresstest.com).
Looking forward to hear from you soon,
