Radar-Based Vital Signs Monitoring
October 11, 2011 | Terry Sharrer
Just as radar can detect the movement of an airplane in flight, short pulses over a short distance can detect the movement of a human body at rest, recording motion, heart rate and respiration. This technology, developed at the Dutch Institute for Applied Science, allows vital signs monitoring at a distance of up to 30′ without any sensors on the subject’s body. Take a look at the video “Ted Punt, Contactless Monitoring System.” MORE
