Imaging “Invisible” Tooth Decay

Using a small digital camera and Qualitative Light Induced Fluorescence Technology, clinicians and engineers at the University of Liverpool’s School of Dentistry have developed a means for revealing very early stages of tooth decay and plaque accumulation. Blue light and special filters for the camera show the beginning of caries well before they are visible to the dentist’s eye alone. MORE
