Smarttots Research Initiative
April 5, 2011 | Terry Sharrer
Anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity can be a serious consequence at any age, but for infants and children the damage could be life-long. To investigate this problem, “SmartTots” (i.e. Strategies for Mitigating Anesthesia-Related neuroToxicity in Tots; San Francisco, CA) is a public-private research collaboration between the USFDA and the International Anesthesia Research Society. Anesthesiologist Dr. Michael Roizen, Chief Wellness Officer for the Cleveland Clinic, is the groups’ board chair. See SmartTots’main site for details on research grants. MORE
