MonoSol Rx (Warren, NJ), a pharmaceutical company specializing in film drug delivery, and Midatech (Oxford, UK), a maker of biocompatible nanoparticles, recently announced their successful animal tests of a film delivery of active insulin across the buccal mucosa (i.e. inside the cheek) for treating diabetes.
