MicroRNA Diagnostics

Unlike messenger RNAs that encode protein formation, microRNAs bind to mRNA and assist in assembling proteins. Like degraded proteins, these particles end up in the bloodstream where researchers have been able to link their profiles to specific cancers and diabetes. They also can indicate a patient’s prognosis. As this line of investigation proceeds, it holds possibilities for accurate, inexpensive microarray diagnostics. MORE
