Jarno Riistama, who recently received his doctoral degree at Tampere University of Technology (Tampere, Finland), believes an implantable EKG for humans is a good bet in the near term, based on successful studies of the device to track stress levels in dairy cows. Meanwhile, though, Riistama and colleagues have developed a Band Aid version EKG sensor that sticks to the skin and sends its signal wirelessly to a receiver. MORE
