Bluetooth Innovation World Cup
April 6, 2010 | Terry Sharrer
Early this year, the sponsors of the Bluetooth Innovation World Cup, including Nokia, Freescale Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, et al, announced that Edward Sazonov, with Physical Activity Innovations LLC, has won the international competition for a unobtrusive sensor that can be worn on clothes or in a shoe to monitor activity and vital signs during exercise. The data are then sent to a computer via Bluetooth wireless communications. Sazonov’s entry was among 250 others that presented wireless sensing and transmission for many feedback applications such as temperature monitoring for fertility. The 2010 competition opens on June 1, 2010. MORE
