DARPA’s Teleportation Work
February 9, 2010 | Terry Sharrer
This isn’t Star Trek’s “transporter,” in which special effects specialists used Alka Seltzer tablets in hot water to imagine teleportation of a person across universe distances, but it is a start. DARPA doesn’t have funding yet to pursue a project in Quantum Entanglement Science and Technology, though its network of collaborators have figured out how to teleport rubidium atoms using Bose-Einstein condensates. Small as this may be, it fits in the truth-is-stranger-than-fiction category. MORE
