Army Robotic Medics

Over the past three years, US Army doctors have used a two-way audio-video robot to carry out some 200 medical procedures, some in the Middle Eastern combat zones. One application is for a physician at a states-side facility to guide a field surgeon through a procedure he or she has not done before. It also allows the surgeon to follow up with a patient who has gone to an evacuation hospital. MORE
