RFID for Ambulances

A Cambridge MA company, ThinkMagic, has developed an RFID inventory control system for emergency vehicles that Ford Motor Company now plans to install in some of its truck lines. The system involves an RFID reader built into the truck bed, with a dashboard display that identifies equipment loaded into the vehicle. Each object has a microchip and antenna attached, and the embedded reader provides the power source that activates the system. When the vehicle’s motor starts, the display alerts for any missing pieces. MORE
