Pakistan Telemedicine Project

Several partners, including three US government agencies, Wateen Telecom and Motorola, the Pakistani government and two Pakistani hospitals, are collaboration to create a wireless telemedicine service for rural clinics. Based on the world’s first nationwide WiMAX system, the project will include Internet-based text, voice and video communications, along with data from portable ultrasound, digital cameras, EKG, stethoscope and X ray equipment.
