Moore’s Law Still Alive and Well at Intel
In 1965 Intel’s co-founder observed that the number of transistors that could be placed into an integrated circuit was doubling exponentially every two years. And, he predicted that would continue for another decade if not longer. Electronic devices from personal computers to cell phones and digital cameras-where speed, memory or resolution count-owe their market performance features to this idea: “Moore’s Law.” Recently, Intel’s Chief Technology Officer Justin Rattner, predicted devices in the areas of social interaction, robotics, and improvements in the ability of computers to sense the real world will keep Moore’s Law in effect for the foreseeable future. For a brief on Rattner’s outlook on Wireless Resonant Energy Link (WREL), “catoms,” and thinking machines, SEE
