Passive, continuous monitoring of biomarkers in body fluids holds great promise for making good health more achievable. This piece describes work at Oregon State University where engineers have created a thin, transparent film of transistors that can detect changes in tear pH which indicates glucose levels. Presumably, a contact lens with this device would have to be removed to retrieve the values it tracks. MORE
