Japanese biochemists report that a pillar shaped compound can bind with the metabolite 1-methylnicotinamide to form a biomarker which can be observed in urine. This could be an early warning method for detecting cancer, and the three components of metabolic syndrome (hypertension, diabetes and hypercholesterol). MORE
