During a surgery or transcatheter procedure, a blood vessel might be accidentally nicked, resulting in bleeding that accumulates until it becomes grossly obvious. To address this a Houston company, Saranas, now has FDA approval for its “Early Bird” bleeding monitoring device, which “uses a vascular access sheath with embedded bioimpedance sensors to detect bleeding and raise an alarm.” MORE WITH VIDEO
