Patch that Monitors In-Patient Repositioning to Prevent Pressure Ulcers

Turning bed-ridden patients is a standard job for nursing, particularly in nursing homes. This may been like a nonchalant matter, but failure to turn patients can result in pressure ulcers that nationally amount to $10 b in costs annually. As a monitor for this situation Leaf Healthcare (Pleasanton, CA) is now offering a small patch that can affix anywhere on a patient’s torso to track how often the person has changed bed positions.
