Nanoparticles of DNA

Neurosteroids are biochemical that promote neurogenesis and neuron survival—as one would wish in nerve regeneration. But neurosteroids act in a flash of time. Researchers at the University of Chicago wanted to see how quickly these molecules acted; so, they created nanocapsules of DNA into which they placed the neurosteroids and a photoresponsive polymer. When light was applied to cells, the DNA capsules released the neurosteroid, which could then be time-tracked. MORE
