A Pillcam with Four Cameras
January 10, 2017 | Terry Sharrer
The aptly named company “CapsoVision” (Saratoga, CA) makes a swallowable capsule-endoscopy device that has four cameras giving a 360 degree view as it passes through the bowels. So far, the device doesn’t have wireless image transmission from inside the body, but the cameras run at 20 frames a second, and the onboard battery lasts for 15 hours. After the capsule passes completely through, it is caught in a stool screen and then sent to the company for image download and interpretation. See the video. MORE
