Stanford researchers have demonstrated how fluorescent markers and PET/CT imaging can provide non-invasive scans of atherosclerotic plaque inflammation. The probes target the proteases macrophages secrete during inflammation, and giving an indication of hardening arteries from early to late stages. MORE
