Last week’s Tagline had a piece about blood clot retrievers. Here, we see a different approach to the same problem (i.e. the problem of improving acute stroke care over using thrombolytic drugs). Russian scientists show how they’ve used nanoparticles of magnetite and the anticlotting enzyme urokinase and guided those particles to the clot with an external magnetic field.
