One can almost hear the late French chef Julia Child describing this recipe: Take two polymers, mix them together, cook gently, and, “Voilà,” you have sticky balls. But actually, these sticky balls are a putty-like, “self-adaptive composite” (SAC), that is a self-healing, reversible self-stiffening biocompatible material which can have multiple applications in medicine and surgery.
