Using Cultured Skin Cells as Burn Bandages

Biomaterials engineers in Mexico have created a biodegradable “bandage,” laced with lab cultured keratinocytes which can be applied to burns to reduce healing time by 50%. The keratinocytes release healing proteins, and because the bandage is biodegradable it doesn’t need to be removed or even changed. MORE
