LionsGate Technologies, Inc. (Vancouver, BC) has received a US patent on its fingertip pulse oximeter that sends data to a smartphone or tablet app via the device’s audio port. Conceivably, this takes blood oxygen monitoring out of a hospital setting, and places it where ever a user goes—home, work, distance locations. MORE

My new cell phone, a Samsung S-6, has a built in oximeter and it works great. No need for a bunch of wires and an oximeter head. This work is a truly dumb way to spend time and money. The parts of an oximeter don’t add up to more than a dollar or so.
