3D Motion and Depth Sensing

Smartphones seem to be getting smarter. This piece is an introduction (with an invitation to developers) to Google’s “Project Tango,” which aims to give a phone motion-detecting and 3-D depth-perception capabilities. They mention how this might help visually-impaired people better navigate, but obviously Google is interested in exploring motion as a vital sign, and depth determination as would be useful in, say, assessing wound healing.
