This item has two parts—the first about the high cost of interpreting DNA sequences, especially regarding prediction, and the second about what interpretation really involves, i.e. understanding uncertainty. Quite likely, predicting a future health risk may be much more difficult than foreseeing the existence of the Higgs boson, but both require astute algorithms. MORE
