Autoantibody Profiling
June 18, 2013 | Terry Sharrer
In a study carried out by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine, investigators reported that human blood contains thousands of autoantibodies that circulate in blood and act to clean cellular debris that results from disease, injury or natural attrition. Each person has a unique profile of autoantibodies. Women have more than men, and aging increases the number in both men and women. Patients with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and breast cancer all had lower levels of autoantibodies. These finding came from protein microarray profiling. MORE
