DNA “Origami”

DNA’s ability to fold tightly probably explains why it survived in the primordial soup that covered the Earth before life. That same property is now being exploited to make “robots” that can carry a cargo of nanoparticles or antibodies through the blood stream to diseased tissues. With molecular “latches” that allow the nano-robot to open when it attaches to a target cell, this could be another “smart bomb” strategy for treating all cancers, and particularly the liquid ones. So far, tests have shown success in vitro. MORE
