Tricorder

In a survey earlier this year, experts in medical devices identified their best bets for breakthroughs—e.g. orthopedic devices with embedded electronics, self monitoring stents, rapid microbial identification systems and, the object of a $10m X Prize, the tricorder diagnostic gun.  Some, like an anti-aging device, may border on sci-fi, but ideas have to be imagined before they can become real.  MORE
