Remember how your mother nagged you about standing straight? Now there’s a sensor device, “Lumoback,” that vilbrates if you slouch and sends data to a smart phone app which documents posture over time. With another device, qTUG, that features an accelerometer and gyroscope, gait can be monitored. Both of these ideas, exhibited at the recent Health 2.0 conference, could be useful in physical rehabilitation or for assessing elders at risk for falling. MORE
