Telemed Enables Drug Store/Hospital Affiliation

A possible scenario of the new healthcare reform legislation is that more patients having health insurance will flood hospital emergency rooms. This seems to be spurring new relationships between hospitals and storefront clinics, such as Catholic Healthcare and CVS MinuteClinics have formed in Phoenix. In that affiliation, Catholic Healthcare doctors will use telemedicine to serve as medical directors for ten walk-in clinics at CVS stores. The advantage of this is that the clinic directors will be able to admit patients, when necessary, to the hospital. MORE
