In order to track medication adherence, Novartis is experimenting with a smart pill that stomach acid turns into a communication system, sending wireless signals to a skin patch receiver, which in turn uploads the data to a smart phone and transmits it to the patient’s doctor.  Cool tools, but the market for this remains more of a mystery than the technology.    MORE
