PSG College of Technology (named for an Indian industrialist/philanthropist on the order of Andrew Carnegie) has superb engineering capabilities and recently two of its research professors developed a modified Bluetooth protocol that can transmit 1.5mb of data in 120 seconds to a mobile device-four times the normal rate for standard Bluetooth.  This is an important development for, say, sending a patient’s x-ray images from one location to another.   MORE
